AVOID GRAFTING @ BIOCOSMO

Graft-Free Treatment at Biocosmo
Biocosmo specializes in preventing the need for skin grafting.

What is Skin Grafting?
Grafting is a surgical procedure where healthy skin is taken from one part of the body — the donor site — and transplanted onto a wound to promote healing. It is commonly performed for burns, ulcers, chronic non-healing wounds, and accidental injuries. However, grafting requires creating a second wound at the donor site, which also needs time and care to heal. In many cases, the body may not accept the graft. This can lead to graft rejection, delayed healing, infection, and other serious complications — risks that are significantly higher in diabetic patients.

Why Grafting is High-Risk for Diabetic Patients
For diabetic patients, graft rejection is common. The donor site wound is often highly painful, with a high risk of infection. Due to compromised healing, recovery from both the donor and graft sites can be prolonged. Even when successful, grafted areas may remain darkened, dusky, or discolored. Other complications include fluid buildup under the graft — seroma or hematoma — foul-smelling discharge, increased pain, swelling, and detachment at the edges. If the graft fails, the surgical wound can become infected and develop deeper and, in many cases, may lead to amputation.

The Biocosmo Approach: No Grafting
At Biocosmo, there is no concept of grafting. We focus on advanced, non-surgical treatment methods that promote actual tissue growth and wound clossing without removing skin from another part of the body. By avoiding grafting, we help patients avoid additional wounds, surgical procedures, ( no doner site wounds ) prolonged pain, and the risks of graft rejection. Our research-based protocols support the growth of healthy new tissue and help wounds heal safely, effectively, and with better cosmetic outcomes.
